Party planning ponderings | {Northern Virginia Event Photographer}
Alliteration fascinates me #nerdmoment.
T-minus 34 days and counting before we have an honest to goodness toddler on our hands. I couldn’t be more excited. Turning one marks a special occasion in any family life and I am beyond proud of the growth and changes my little guy has made in the last 12 months.
It is almost unbelievable that when we brought him home he could barely lift his head up. Such a helpless little thing that required all his needs be met through us.
If he was hungry-nurse him.
If he was tired-rock him to sleep.
If he was feeling playful-giggle and make funny faces
If he needed comforting-hold him close.
All these many thing we had to do for him, but as small and as helpless as he was he gave us so many BIG thing most important of which his love. The unfaltering, unwavering, I could melt into your arms and be forever contented kind of love.
So as amazing as he is, I feel that deserves an amazing celebration of his life’s successes! And thus begins the party planning road.
I’m no stranger to party planning as my oldest has enjoyed some pretty swanky affairs (if I do say so myself!) in her day, lol! Below are a few pics of past parties I’ve planned.

Milk and Cookies Themed Second Birthday Party

But I have to admit boy parties are a bit of a game changer from me, but luckily my husband provided the inspiration for this one! He knows I love a good theme and as I was hemming and hawing one day about what I should do, out of nowhere he comes up with the brilliant idea of doing a Space themed party
Shut the front door!
(No really, shut the front door its triple digits outside today!)
Seriously, how sweet is he to humor my slight party planning obsession! His suggestions got my wheels to spinning, and fingers to click-clicking around the internet for some inspiration. First thing I KNEW I had to serve was none other than Moons Pies! I mean what else do you feed hungry astronauts in space, right?
I also know I want to do bright primary colors with a focus on navy blue and orange kinda like this
I’m positive I’ll be spending a lot of time gathering goodies from this store.
Can you tell I’m just a wee bit excited?
Are you planning a huge shindig for your little one? Do you have sunshine stealers that don’t understand why you throw elaborate parties for someone that still drools? And most importantly I’m dying to know have you ever had freeze dried ice cream? Yummy or yucky??

Thanks for sharing Whitney! You are such a great MOM! I’m trying to not cry on this blog post! Your son is a lucky blessed little boy to have two great parents! I hope his birthday party is all you hope and want for him.
Awww, thank you Sha! I’m just trying to be half as good as my mom was to all of us.
